Radical Faith

This powerful message explores what it truly means to have radical faith by following the disciples through their forty-day journey after Christ's resurrection. We discover that radical faith isn't about extreme acts or spectacular displays, but rather about being deeply rooted in relationship with Jesus. The sermon draws from Luke 24, where Jesus appears to his frightened, doubting disciples and simply says 'Peace be with you.' What's striking is that Jesus doesn't immediately perform public miracles after his resurrection. Instead, he shows up for two unknown disciples on the road to Emmaus, sits at their table, and opens their minds to understand Scripture. This reveals a profound truth: we cannot experience supernatural breakthrough without first cultivating supernatural intimacy with Christ. The message challenges us to examine whether our faith has become too civilized, too comfortable, too safe. Like Rocky in his later years who lost his edge, have we stopped being radical in our pursuit of God? The four pillars of radical faith presented here are transformative: it must be rooted in relationship, it stays in the middle of doubt, it advances in the face of fear, and it trusts even when we don't understand. Perhaps most convicting is the call to 'stay' when everything in us wants to leave—our marriages, our churches, our faith journey. The testing period the disciples endured wasn't punishment but preparation for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. When we stay in the place God has called us, that very place becomes where the Spirit is poured out.
